Now, let me tell you a story.
A while back, I was doing a mock test with a student, and I thought the student was very good at English.
In the end, I gave her a Band 6 in the speaking test, and yet I felt and I suspected she was a Band 8 because her pronunciation was perfect.
Everything she said was accurate, and I just sensed she was really high-level, but she didn't show me that language.
She didn't speak for long turns, so I could see the fluency.
She didn't use a wide range of vocabulary or grammar, and in the end she got a six.
