- If you've ever used a safety razor with a lubricated strip, then you've experienced polyethylene oxide and I've got loads of it here, dissolved in water.

Polyethylene oxide is a polymer, which means it's made a really long-chain molecules and all those molecules are tangled up around each other.

So although this is a liquid, when the liquid flows, those molecules tug on each other meaning it behaves in a really weird way.

(menacing music) Isn't that Incredible?

Just a tiny tip of the jar and almost all of it pours out.

Another Cool thing you can do with polyethylene oxide is draw it up into a syringe.

But amazingly, the syringe doesn't have to be in the liquid.

It can be above the liquid.

So there you go.

Polyethylene oxide, one of the slimiest substances known to man, which is why you only need a small amount of it to keep your safety razor lubricated for a very long time.
