As an Englishman, the subject of tea is one that's quite close to my heart.
There are many ways to brew and enjoy a cup.
Some are fine for an everyday pick-me-up, and some methods, well, they leave a lot to be desired.
But there's only one way to enjoy a cup of tea with the grace and elegance of a gentleman.
So whether it's a moment of calm reflection by yourself, or enjoying a cup or two with others, it would be my pleasure to show you how to drink tea like a gentleman.
Just the same as any other gentlemanly pursuit, tea drinking comes with its own unique set of tools and equipment, like cigar cutters, humidors and ashtrays for the cigar enthusiast, or golf clubs, bags and shoes for the golfer.
The basic essentials that you'll need are a kettle to boil water, a teapot, a milk jug, a sugar bowl, a sugar spoon or tongs, depending on whether the sugar is granulated or cubed, a cup and saucer for each person drinking, a teaspoon per person, and a tea strainer.
Oh, and of course, tea.
In this case, a classic black tea comprised of azam and solon loose leaves, most commonly known as English breakfast tea, but other teas are available.
These are all non-negotiable items, but they don't have to cost the earth.
