Most of my life is spent on the road, so I always look forward to a delicious Beijing breakfast.
So in front of me right now, I have this incredible spread of breakfast foods.
This is dalian, which is like kind of a potsticker, you can think of it.
It has meat inside.
This is zha gao, so it's like a kind of sticky rice.
This is you tiao, but in English, I guess it's sometimes translated to a Chinese donut.
It's savory, it's crispy, it's crunchy, and you can dip it into soybean milk to kind of just like bring all the flavors together.
This is doufu nao.
Really umami, savory broth.
I grew up eating this.
